Hernia Surgery : At An Affordable price with a quality care...

Hernia is a disorder most commonly occurring in the abdomen when organs push through tissues or muscles holding it in place. They can also occur on different parts of the body such as belly button, groin areas and upper thighs.
Although most cases of hernias are not life threatening, they do not go away on their own. Treatment for hernia mainly involves surgical procedures to eliminate further complications due to the condition.Treatment can be done with an affordable price with quality care at Hernia Management in India

Hernia is of different types based on the organs affected and location of occurrence. Inguinal Hernia is the most common of these with more than 70% of hernia cases reported in this category.

Causes of Hernia

The main cause of hernia is attributed to the strain and weakness in muscles. This can occur due a variety of factors such as age, damages caused due to injury or prior surgeries, congenital defects such as inability of abdominal walls to close around uterus, chronic coughs and so on.

The risk factors that can lead to hernia are as follows:-

  • Obesity or being overweight
  • Smoking
  • Chronic cough and constipation
  • Hereditary factors
  • Treatment for Hernia

Treatment for hernia is initiated after a series of diagnosis tests to ascertain the disease. The main tests that are used to detect hernia are endoscopy and barium X-ray.
The treatment procedure for hernia involves medication, lifestyle changes and surgery, based on the severity of symptoms and the size of hernia. However, surgical procedures are usually conducted to avoid unnecessary complications. The best Treatment for Hernia in India is done with affordable rates. The various surgical options for treatment of hernia are as follows: -

Open surgery – open surgery involves conventional surgical procedures where the opening in the tissues or muscles is closed with surgical mesh.

Laparoscopic surgery – laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive technique, which get the procedure done, without affecting the adjoining tissues.

Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery – this surgical option makes use of a single incision port for conducting the surgery. This enables better healing while limiting the scarring.

Robotic surgery – one of the latest additions to surgery procedures, robotic surgery ensures better accuracy and precision in conducting the procedure.

Robotic Surgery for Hernia

Robotic surgery makes uses of a robotic arm with really tiny tools attached to its end. Over time there are huge technological developments, which have enabled systems to aid rightly in surgical procedures. Any minor limitations of minimally invasive surgeries are overcome with the help of robotically-assisted surgery. The instruments are all controlled either with a computer or a remote. All the normal movements related to the surgery are carried out with the robotic arm and under the guidance of the manipulator. The da Vinci surgical system is presently the most advanced robotic technology, which facilitates complex surgeries using a minimally invasive approach for gynaecological surgeries, cardiac valve repairs and even more.

Surgery Now Simplified - Laparoscopic Surgery

Surgery has been viewed with eyes of fear since long. With latest technologies gracing the medical field and the advent of minimally invasive surgical procedures, this fear has slowly receded. Laparoscopic surgery, also called key hole surgery is a minimally invasive procedure which helps in carrying out surgical procedure through small incisions.
Laparoscopic surgeries were earlier used in the field of gynaecological surgeries. However, over the last ten years, it has penetrated various fields of surgeries for hernia repair, gall bladder removal, appendectomy and more. Newer updates in the form of advanced laparoscopic surgeries and robotic surgeries have contributed considerably to widening its scope.

Laparoscopic Surgery Procedure
Unlike conventional surgery, where incisions are big, laparoscopic surgery is done by making incisions in sizes ranging from 0.5cm to 1 cm. Each of these incisions are known as port. In the case of abdominal surgery, the area where the surgery is being conducted is inflated by filling them with carbon dioxide. This helps in providing the surgeon with a working space.
The laparoscope, a long tube attached with a high-resolution camera and associated instruments are then inserted through these ports. The camera transmits the images of the internal organs to the monitor in the surgery room. This provides the surgeon with a clear view of the internal cavity. The surgeon can then perform procedure same as in the case of open surgery, but with a small incision.
Benefits of Laparoscopic Surgery
The conventional method of open surgery has a probability for complications like haemorrhaging, scarring, damage to nearby organs and so on which are successfully addressed in laparoscopic surgery. The numerous benefits of laparoscopic surgeries which has helped in increasing its popularity include: -
  • Considerably less pain after surgery than in conventional methods.
  • Less post-surgery discomfort owing to smaller incisions
  • Relatively lesser recovery time
  • Shortened hospitalisation period
  • Smaller scar marks.
  • Can get back to regular life quickly.
  • Lesser internal scarring than open surgery.

Hernia Management Centre is a leading centre based in Chennai, specialised with all types of hernia repair with treatments like laparoscopic surgeries and more.

Robotic Hernia Repair Chennai

The advancement in technology is making its presence known in the field of medicine and health care as well. Robotic surgery is now becoming the latest trend, replacing the popular minimally invasive procedure.
Robotic surgery is a robot assisted surgery that enables the doctors to conduct the surgery with a higher degree of precision, speed and accuracy. It is associated with minimally invasive surgery in procedure though it overcomes any imperfection related to the procedure. It can be used in open surgeries as well.
http://www.herniamanagementindia.com/robotic-surgery.html

Robotic Surgery Procedure
A robotic surgery system involves a camera arm for imaging of the anatomy of the concerned parts and a mechanical arm, that is connected with instruments required for the surgery. The robotic arms are controlled by the surgeon with the help of a computer console placed near the operating table. The console has a high definition monitor used for displaying the 3D images transmitted by the camera arm.
Advantages of Robotic Surgery
The technique of robotic surgery helps in conducting complex and delicate procedures that were considered impossible in conventional methods. They ensure better flexibility, control and precision in the procedures followed. It offers better prospects for minimally invasive surgeries.
Other advantages of robotic surgery include fewer complications due to infections, negligible bleeding or blood loss, shortened recovery period and smaller scars or marks.
Robotic surgery is a relatively new branch of surgery procedure and hence the machines and infrastructure are not available commonly. While opting for this procedure, ensure the quality of infrastructure and expertise of the surgeon conducting it for better results.
Robotic Surgery at Hernia Management Centre
Hernia Management Centre, based in Chennai offers robotic surgery option amongst others for treatment of hernia and other disorders. With an advanced infrastructure and qualified experts, the centre has successfully treated a number of disorders with their advanced robotic surgery methods.

Get Rid of Hernia

Incisional hernia is a type of hernia caused due to an incompletely healed surgical wound. Since median incisions in the abdomen are frequent for all types of abdominal surgeries, ventral incisional hernias are often also classified as ventral hernias due to their usual location. Not all ventral hernias are from incisions and some may be caused by other trauma or congenital problems.

Clinically, incisional hernias are present as a bulge or protrusion near the area of a surgical incision. Virtually any prior abdominal operation can develop an incisional hernia at the scar area. The surgeries include large abdominal procedures such as intestinal or vascular surgery and small incisions such as appendix removal. While this type of hernia can occur at any incision, they tend to occur more commonly along a straight line from the xiphoid of the sternum straight down to the pubis, and are more complex in these regions. Hernias present in this area have a high rate of recurrence if repaired. For this reason, it is especially advised that these be repaired via a tension free repair method using a synthetic mesh.
Traditional open repair of incisional hernias can be very difficult and complicated. Laparoscopic incisional hernia repair is the new method of surgery for this condition. This operation is performed using different surgical microscopes and specialized instruments. The surgical mesh is placed into the abdomen underneath the abdominal muscles through small incisions towards the side of the hernia. In this manner, the weakened tissue of the original hernia can never be re-incised to perform the repair and one can minimize the potential for wound complications such as infections. Laparoscopic repair has been found to be safe and a more resilient repair than open incisional hernia repair.
Hernia Management Center is one of the famous centers in Chennai that deals with almost all types of hernia.

Are You Suffering From Gastrointestinal Problems

Hiatal Hernia can be simply mentioned as a condition in which upper part of the stomach pushes up into the chest cavity through the diaphragm muscle. In a Hiatal Hernia, the stomach bulges up into the chest through the diaphragm.
http://www.herniamanagementindia.com/hiatal-hernia.html
Lifting heavy objects or bending over, frequent coughing, hard sneezing, stress, frequent vomiting, these may lead to hiatus hernia. The most common cause is obesity.
The most important thing to note is that the symptoms of hiatus hernia can resemble to many disorders and often been called as the "great mimic”. A person with this problem can experience dull pains in the chest, shortness of breath (caused by the hernia's effect on the diaphragm), heart palpitations etc.

However,  the Hiatal hernia does not cause any symptoms. The pain and discomfort that a patient experiences are mainly due to the reflux of gastric acid, air, or bile. And yes while there are several causes for acid reflux, it does happen more frequently in the presence of hiatal hernia.
In the great majority of cases, patients experience no life-threatening discomfort. If the condition has been brought on by stress, stress reduction techniques can be very much effective, or if overweight, just as to find a way to reduce weight.

However in some unusual instances, as when a hiatal hernia is unusually large, it may cause esophageal stricture or severe discomfort. Surgery is sometimes recommended.

Hernia Management Center is one of the Famous Center for Hernia Treatment in Chennai. Hernia are usually not life-threatening, but it can create dangerous complications & pain. We provide general, laparoscopic and robotic surgery for hernia according to the need and complications of hernia in each patient.

Know the causes of hernia:
Muscle weakness and excessive strain are the core causes of hernia formation. Congenital anomalies in the abdomen, prolonged coughing, persistent sneezing, constipation, heavyweight lifting, obesity, and pressure in the abdomen during pregnancy are the reasons of tuning muscles weak.

Possible symptoms of Hernia:
  • Bulging or lump
  • Bulged area does have aching or burning sensation.
  • Pain is experienced in the affected site.
  • Symptoms of hernia vary depending on the hernia type.
  • Ruptured feeling in the problematic area.

Some hernia types do not have any symptoms. After a prolonged period only, the symptoms would have experienced by the affected persons.

Robotic surgery for hernia:
Robotic surgery for Hernia is the latest and advanced surgical treatment with a minimally invasive procedure. Robotic surgery is a method of performing surgery with very small tools attached to a robotic arm. Both camera and mechanical arms are attached with surgical tools. The surgeon sits at a computer console and controls the robotic arms. The Console is the controlling centre of the device that helps the surgeon to view the surgical site through a 3D endoscope. With the help of such advanced Robotically Assisted Surgical (RAS) devices, surgeons use multiple surgical instruments such as scissors, graspers, retractors and suction irrigators. Robotic surgery is protective for all types of hernia. Under anesthesia, Robotic surgery for Hernia is performed.
